Well-being

Even with strong intuition and expertise, backing up my insights on academic research is invaluable. My clients are businesspeople—they need concrete evidence.

Jan-Emmanuel De Neve, Professor of Economics and Behavioral Science at Oxford and Cambridge, brilliantly demonstrates the undeniable correlation between workplace well-being and productivity.

And well-being, in turn, is deeply connected to leadership. As shown on the second slide, the key drivers of well-being—belonging, trust, support, and appreciation—are direct results of a leader’s behavior. A sense of belonging means being seen, heard, and recognized. Trust encourages open communication, creativity, innovation, and problem-solving. Strong leadership builds a thriving culture.

While 87% of leaders recognize the importance of well-being, only 35% act on it. My clients are in that 35% because they understand that strong relationships with their teams reinforce their vision and strategy. This is a true win-win scenario, there’s nothing to lose.

Yet, soft skills are rarely taught and often overlooked because they don’t seem “business” enough. But the formula is simple: alongside business acumen, develop leadership skills like accountability, team building, motivation, communication, active listening, delegation, and empathy.

Invest in coaching and mentoring at all levels of the organization, and cultivate a supportive, psychologically safe culture. The result? Higher productivity, better retention, and a stronger organization.
