Engagement

Today, Gallup released their 2024 State of the Global Workplace report. One of the most striking results is the low employee engagement globally.

Only 33% of employees in the US are engaged. Unsurprisingly, the US has the world’s best regional score, as many leadership and management positive methodologies originated here. In comparison, the world average is at 23%, Europe is at 13% and East Asia at 18%. However, it’s alarming that 51% of US employees report being unengaged, and 16% are actively disengaged at work. This lack of engagement is estimated to cost the global economy a staggering $8.8 Trillion.

While we all agree it starts at the top in the C-suite, I firmly believe that senior executives and managers play a crucial role in creating and supporting constructive sub-cultures. By doing so, they can cultivate a happier and more engaged workplace where all can thrive together.
